Essential Concepts for Trading

Want to trade in the financial markets, but don’t know where to begin? This is the place for you. We have designed an online course for people who have never traded before or who have traded with minimal success. Discover how to make money when prices go down as well as up. Create your own job, manage retirement money, or earn extra cash for fun.

A lot of information about trading is available through books, magazines, and DVDs.  Many people search the Internet, but are overwhelmed by hundreds of web pages on the subject. With so much information available, it is difficult to determine what really works.

In our popular 12-week course, we do not waste time with meaningless activity. We show you what you need to know to trade in the markets. Configure price charts, identify trend, assess momentum, use a sound trading strategy, and more. We discuss individual stocks, exchange-traded funds (ETFs), mutual funds, and futures.

Course material covers the three major forms of trading:

  • Day trading — Go in and out of the markets several times per day. Great for those with substantial time availability during market hours.
  • Swing Trading — Capture price moves that last from one to five days. Great for people with existing daytime jobs or other commitments.
  • Position Trading — Move money occasionally during the year. Great for market participants with retirement or investment-club accounts.

This course offers access to a variety of educational materials and methods. You will learn through independent study (readings, videos, exercises), forum participation, live online review sessions, and guided practice. Because success in the markets is highly dependent on what you do and not just what you know, practical application is an important component.

Since its inception in 2008, our course has attracted people from many walks of life…bankers, business owners, store managers, sales reps, engineers, information systems analysts, medical personnel, pastors, auto mechanics, truck drivers, taxi drivers, factory workers, homemakers, students, and retirees. Some have even taken the course twice! Read what participants say about their experiences on our testimonials page.
